CAPITAL BANK IS DOUBLING YOUR MONEY THIS HOLIDAY SEASON
(VINELAND, December 16) – Cumberland County Habitat for Humanity (CCHFH) and Capital Bank of New Jersey are kicking off this year’s “Capital Challenge” fundraising drive and continuing their partnership raising funds to give three very special families a place to call home.
Now through January 31, CCHFH is collecting donations to complete three homes for three families in need of a place to call home. What makes the “Capital Challenge” so special is that Capital Bank of New Jersey has agreed to match all donations made to CCHFH over the holiday season up to $15,000! This unique partnership allows local donors to double their money this holiday season and give three families a very hopeful opportunity.
“Times are tough this year. There aren’t many ways to DOUBLE your money ever, let alone around the holidays. This gives folks a chance to make the money go further and remember what the true reason for the season is – giving,” remarked Victoria Lods, Director for CCHFH.”
Donations can be mailed to CCHFH at P.O. Box 906, Millville NJ. 08332 or dropped off to Capital Bank of New Jersey at 175 S. Main Road, Vineland, NJ or 1234 W. Landis Ave., Vineland. For more information please contact 856-563-0292 or visit www.habitat-cumberlandnj.org.
CCHFH is a non-profit, local affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International building affordable homes for ownership in the Cumberland County area. Habitat works through locally run affiliates throughout the US and the world building or restoring simple, decent housing with the help of donations and volunteers. Local affiliates select qualified families to become homeowners; homeowners pay off their house through sweat equity and no-interest mortgages, which go towards building future homes.

CAPITAL BANK KEEPS THE “CAPITAL CAMPAIGN CHALLENGE” GOING STRONG
(VINELAND,
February 4) – Cumberland County Habitat for Humanity (CCHFH) and Capital
Bank of New Jersey continue their partnership raising funds to give a
very special family a place to call home.
Over the holiday season, CCHFH collected $10,500.00 to complete a
handicapped accessible home for a family of seven. The fundraising drive
was part of the “Capital Challenge” that kicked off in November. Capital
Bank of New Jersey agreed to match all donations made to CCHFH over the
holiday season up to $15,000. This unique partnership gave CCHFH the
opportunity to raise $30,000 for a special needs family, including five
year old twin boys suffering the disabling effects of cerebral palsy.
Only $4,500 away from meeting the full commitment, Capital Bank of New
Jersey has agreed to extend the holiday giving period thru Easter
Sunday, April 12. The extra $9,000 would allow CCHFH to complete their
current build on Garfield Street.
“We are so grateful to everyone who contributed to the Capital Challenge
campaign thus far. Being so close to reaching our matching funds goal we
hope everyone will find it in their hearts to contribute, if they
haven’t already so we can complete this project and give five children a
place to call home, remarked Victoria Lods, Director for CCHFH.”
Donations can be mailed to CCHFH at P.O. Box 906, Millville NJ. 08332 or
dropped off to Capital Bank of New Jersey at 175 S. Main Road, Vineland,
NJ. Volunteers are needed on the job site as well to complete the home.

More information on how and where to give!
November, 2008
Dear Friends,
The leaves are falling, there is a chill in the air and Cumberland
County families have another holiday season on the way. Families
everywhere are looking forward to cooking the turkey, trimming the tree
and welcoming friends and family into their homes. Cumberland County
Habitat for Humanity (CCHFH) is looking forward to something a little
different – building a home for a very special family of seven.
Michelle, Greg and their five children - including twin five year old
boys disabled by cerebral palsy – are struggling to complete everyday
tasks in their rented home that is far from meeting their needs. The
home is too small and too expensive. With one bathroom on the second
floor they are constantly forced to carry their growing sons up and down
the steps, making the boys feel like virtual prisoners in their own
home.
Michelle and Greg have partnered with CCHFH to build a home for their
family. Despite personal hardships, they have already put hundreds of
sweat equity hours towards building their home. Hoping to have the house
completed by year’s end and in time for the holidays, Michelle and Greg
need help.
Capital Bank of New Jersey granted them a very special and early
Christmas gift…
Capital Bank has agreed to match all donations made during November and
December up to $15,000! While CCHFH strives to utilize volunteers and
donated materials as much as possible, funding is still needed to
complete a home. With your help and Capital Bank’s commitment, CCHFH can
raise up to $30,000 and help a family find the true meaning of the
holiday spirit.
CCHFH has been building homes in our area for nearly 20 years by
partnering with needy families to build and rehabilitate affordable
homes. Each family is required to contribute a minimum of 250 sweat
equity hours. Upon a home’s completion families repay their loan through
a 0% interest mortgage from CCHFH. Each revolving mortgage continues to
be used to build more homes. In essence every dollar invested in CCHFH
is recycled and used over and over again to help more families!
Please support our efforts to make the dream of home ownership a
reality. Any donation - $5, $25, $50 or $100 - will help complete this
home and will be MATCHED by Capital Bank of New Jersey! You can be
assured your donation will stay right here in Cumberland County helping
to build a stronger community and a brighter tomorrow.
Sincerely,
Carlos A. Mercado, Jr.
President, CCHFH
